The Master and Margarita

Frankly speaking, I don’t enjoy listening to the news on the radio. It’s always reported bymaster.jpg some girls who pronounce the names of places inaccurately. Besides, every third one has some slight speech defect, as if they are chosen on purpose.

A writer is identified not by an identity card, but by what he writes.

What would your good do if evil didn’t exist, and what the earth would look like if shadows disappeared from it?

The cat was united and returned to its owner, having tasted grief, it’s true, and having learned by experience the meaning of error and slander.

I recently got its English translation and read. It is a good book, masterly written. I’m trying to get hold of its movie and watch. Heshmatollah Mohajerani believes it’s the best novel of 20th century and one of the 10 books everyone should read. Now I’m starting the Borhters Karamazov. By the way, if you fancy a great Persian novel, make sure you read Shohare Ahoo Khanom by Alimohammad Afghani (SOAS library has it). My God, I think you won’t find any other persian novel that can compete with it in terms of writing. amazing, I loved it. A critic said he is the Balzac in Persian. :-)
